The village of Rantoul approved a new schedule of water rates for the village that lays out water prices from May 1, 2016 until May 1, 2020.
The volume charge will begin at $3.62 this year and increase annually until it reaches $4.23 by 2020.
Residential customers will pay a rate of $6.17 in 2016, increasing to $7.25 by 2020.
Commercial and industrial customers will also see rate increases over the next five years, with the largest increase of $100 scheduled for the industrial water users.
